I produced a video with Muzeum Stará Čistírna, Prague, Czech Republic, for their summer 2012 exhibition. I shot the video 80 meters beneath the ground-level sewage tunnel, Prague’s oldest sewage treatment plant. I created moving images using the underground sewage structure as a landscape background.
The damp and dark underground sewerage symbolizes my subconscious mind and unspoken sexual desires. The hidden underground governs the most complicated and essential activities above the ground.
The water, the gas, the electricity, and so many conveniences reach out to us from underground as well our discards flows away through it. We never realize that we walk over this complex network of tunnels like we are unaware of our subconscious mind.
